How One CRUCIAL CHANGE Saved SONIC THE HEDGEHOG Franchise Forever… #shorts
Sonic the Hedgehog 3’s trailer has gotten tons of love from fans online, proving just how far the franchise has come. It’s a great reminder of how one critical decision saved the franchise, especially given how rough video game adaptations have been in the past. Sonic’s current design, which fans adore, almost didn’t happen. The original design for 2020’s Sonic movie faced massive backlash because it was, frankly, pretty terrible. The creators actually listened to the criticism, scrapped the bad design, and revamped Sonic to look more like his classic game self. This change delayed the movie and cost a lot, but it paid off big time. Without this change, we wouldn’t be looking forward to the third movie today. It’s hard to imagine how characters like Knuckles, Tails, or Shadow would’ve looked with that original design. Now, in 2024, Sonic is getting a third movie and a TV spinoff. It’s wild to think how different things could have been if they hadn’t made that one crucial change.
